Mumbai: To avoid challenges faced by students during college admissions after the Common Entrance Test (CET), the CET Cell has implemented a new system. Starting this year, students will be informed about the required documents for admission at the time of application for entrance exams. The information regarding the documents and their samples will be made available on the CET Cell’s website during the registration process. Changes have been made to the website to provide students with a comprehensive guide for the documents required for the admission process.
Every year, the CET Cell handles the admissions for professional courses. However, students often face confusion about the required documents. Many students are unaware that caste validity certificates or non-criminal certificates may be necessary in addition to caste certificates. As a result, students end up scrambling to collect the documents in a short time frame, which sometimes leads to them being unable to meet the deadline. In such cases, students are forced to take admission in the open category. This delay also leads to extensions in the admission process and some students face academic setbacks. To alleviate this, the CET Cell has decided to provide the necessary information upfront.
The updated website will now feature a section listing the required documents for admission. This will include specific documents based on the category of the student. Additionally, students will be provided with sample forms for these certificates. This new approach will allow students to begin gathering their documents early, ensuring a smooth admission process and reducing last-minute confusion. The changes made to the website are aimed at minimizing stress during the admission process, ensuring everything runs efficiently and on time.
The website will also provide download links for students to access the necessary document lists and application samples.
