Nanna Kate Sheathes His Sword from Chinchwad, Mahayuti Gains Advantage!
Assembly Elections: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's Persuasion
Pimpri: Despite Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s persuasion, Nanna Kate, a prominent rebel candidate from the Nationalist Congress Party in the Chinchwad assembly constituency, has finally withdrawn his candidacy shortly before the deadline. By sheathing his sword today, he has given significant relief to the Mahayuti (BJP) candidate Shankar Jagtap. Kate had been sitting for about an hour and a half for his withdrawal. It was after receiving a call from Ajit Pawar in the morning that Kate ultimately decided to step back.
In the by-election held last year in Chinchwad, he received over a hundred thousand votes and was eager to contest again this time. However, due to the seat allocation, which went to the sitting BJP MLA, Kate had raised the banner of rebellion. Nevertheless, after requests from Ajit Pawar and senior BJP leaders including Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Kate has announced his withdrawal, although he appeared displeased. He stated that he is heeding Ajit Pawar’s command for the city’s welfare and will uphold the principles of the alliance.
Maintaining Alliance Principles in Maval…
Kate informed Fadnavis over the phone that his withdrawal is conditional upon the BJP retracting its rebellion against NCP candidate and MLA Sunil Shelke in Maval. Fadnavis assured him that they will also adhere to the alliance principles in Maval, signaling that the BJP’s rebellion in that region is likely to be quelled.
