Pakistani went to grab Indian citizen’s parking; Orders to leave Dubai
The India-Pakistan dispute is a huge one and is unlikely to be resolved anytime in the future.
The Indo-Pak conflict is long-standing and is unlikely to be resolved anytime soon. Even abroad, disputes between citizens of these two countries persist. A recent incident in Dubai’s Tecom area exemplifies this, where two nationals—one from India and the other from Pakistan—got into a dispute over parking. The conflict escalated to such a degree that the police had to intervene and take action. Though this incident occurred in February 2023, it has recently gained attention due to a court ruling.
In the court’s ruling on this matter, the Pakistani citizen, aged 70, has been ordered to leave Dubai. The Indian citizen involved is 34 years old, and both of them lived in the same building. The Pakistani citizen had claimed the parking space where the Indian national had been parking his car. What started as a minor altercation quickly turned into a heated argument.
In a fit of anger, the Pakistani national pushed the Indian, causing him to fall to the ground. The Indian citizen called the police, who subsequently filed a case. The case went to court, and the Pakistani national has now been ordered to leave the country. While both individuals were detained by the police, the Indian citizen, being the injured party and supported by evidence, was released.
During the court proceedings, the Pakistani citizen admitted to pushing the Indian citizen. However, the Indian citizen alleged that he was provoked into doing so. After considering all factors, the court decided to expel the Pakistani national from Dubai.
The court sentenced the Pakistani citizen to three months in prison for assaulting the Indian citizen and attempting to cause him permanent disability. After serving his sentence, he has been instructed to leave the country. The charges leveled against the Indian citizen were of lesser severity, and his case has been transferred to another court for further investigation.
