Ratnagiri: Theft of cashew nuts worth lakhs of rupees at Hatkhamba near Ratnagiri city had taken place twice. This posed a major challenge to the Ratnagiri police. Due to the vigilance of Ratnagiri Rural Police Patrol Squad on Friday night, June 29, three suspects have been caught red-handed. Property worth Rs 8 lakh has been seized from the accused.
The suspect Hyundai car was parked in Golap area. But as soon as he approached the police, the driver of the car drove away. This was followed by a thrilling chase. The car sped away in the rain. The patrol team immediately informed the Purnagad police. The car was stopped at Pawas and interrogated, three suspects were apprehended and the police seized the items.
