Shocking information is coming to light that a girl died due to not getting a ventilator on time in Nagpur’s medical hospital. The dead girl has been identified as Vaishnavi Raju Bageshwar (17) and was a resident of Vani in Yavatmal district. She was admitted to the hospital as her condition worsened. But she died due to not getting a ventilator during the treatment. The family has alleged that the girl died due to negligence on the part of the hospital.
Nagpur Medical is recognized as the second largest hospital in Asia. But there has been an incident of not getting a ventilator to save the life of a patient. Vaishnavi Raju Bageshwar of Yavatmal district was admitted to Ward No. 48 of the Medical Center on the morning of September 15 due to her deteriorating condition. According to the information received, both the kidneys of Vaishnavi had failed. She was having trouble breathing. So Vaishnavi needed a ventilator. However, as there was no ventilator in the hospital, she was kept on an Ambu bag. Medical Superintendent Dr. Sharad Kuchewar was also informed that ventilators were not available. But even they could not provide ventilators. Despite waiting for several hours at the Government Medical Hospital, she did not get a ventilator. She finally died on Friday afternoon.
For 20 hours, the parents pressed the balloon of the Ambu bag and gave artificial respiration to the child. After the death of the girl, the parents cried out. A ventilator could not be made available till the girl died. As a result, Vaishnavi’s father blamed the negligence of the hospital for the girl’s death. Besides, it was time to hand press the Ambu bag to our lives. But Lekki did not get a ventilator, her father added.
