No shortage of facilities for Palkhi ceremony: Commissioner Rajesh Patil

Pimpri: The concerned department heads should take care that there will be no shortage in the facilities provided by the Municipal Corporation for the Palkhi ceremony, said Commissioner and Administrator Rajesh Patil. He also said that all the departments should coordinate with each other and plan the palanquin ceremony in a cordial manner.Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi ceremony is arriving in the city on 21st June, while Santshrestha Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi ceremony will arrive on 22nd June. Against this backdrop, Commissioner Rajesh Patil had called a meeting of all concerned departments of NMC. In this meeting, various instructions were given by Commissioner Patil to the concerned officers, at that time he was speaking.

Additional Commissioner Development Dhakne, Jitendra Wagh, Ulhas Jagtap, Joint Commissioner Ashadevi Durgude, Health Medical Officer Dr. Anil Roy, City Engineer Makrand Nikam, Shrikant Savane, Sanjay Khabde, Sandesh Chavan, Sanjay Kulkarni, Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Khot, Sachin Dhole, Vitthal Joshi, Chief Fire Officer Kiran Gawde, Chief Security Officer Uday Jarande, Health Executive Officer Ganesh Deshpande, Disaster Management Officers Omprakash Bahiwal, Executive Engineer Pravin Ghode, Vijay Kale, Bapu Gaikwad, Abasaheb Dhawale, Regional Officers Shital Wakde, Umakant Gaikwad, Rajesh Agle, Anna Bodde, Vijay Kumar Thorat etc. were present.

Commissioner Rajesh Patil said that Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi ceremony is arriving in the city on 21st June and the ceremony will end at Akurdi. While providing basic facilities like mobile toilets and drinking water at the place of stay, there should be no shortage of them. In schools where Dindigul resides, spraying should be done. Also provide clean drinking water. An independent team should be appointed to provide health and medical facilities to the Waraks. Dustbins should be kept in place for garbage collection. After inspecting the palanquin route, trees which are obstructive and dangerous should be pruned, ditches should be filled and open chambers should be covered, said Commissioner Patil.

Municipal Corporation provides fire fighting vehicle along with palanquin every year. According to the demand made by the head of the Palkhi ceremony this year, an ambulance will be provided by the Municipal Corporation along with the medical team and medicine system, said Commissioner Patil. He also said that cloth bags would be distributed to Dindigul representatives to convey the message of plastic liberation.
