Mumbai: A letter from the BJP (Governor) asking the Mahavikas Aghadi government to prove its majority was issued on Tuesday night.
A BJP delegation led by Leader of the Opposition Devendra Fadnavis had called on the Governor yesterday. In it, the governor handed over a letter to the state government for a majority test. Referring to the letter and the news of political instability in the state, the Governor has sent a letter to the Legislative Secretary.
As per the letter of the Governor –
1. The current political situation in Maharashtra is volatile. It is being reported in the media that 39 Shiv Sena MLAs have decided to quit the Mahavikas Aghadi government.
2. Against this backdrop, seven independent MLAs have received an email to Raj Bhavan on June 28. It says the government is in the minority. Therefore it is necessary to prove the majority test as soon as possible.
