Devendra Fadnavis :

Maharashtra Aims for Trillion Dollar Economy
Maharashtra is on its way to becoming a trillion-dollar economy. Last year, the state achieved half of its target of a trillion-dollar economy. Now, from 2028 to 2030, Maharashtra is set to become a trillion-dollar economy, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He was speaking at the inauguration of the World Hindu Economic Conference at the Jio World Convention Center, BKC, Bandra, from December 13 to 15.

Key Attendees at the Event
At the event, Swami Vidyanand, the founder of the World Hindu Economic Forum, former minister and MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha, World Hindu Economic Forum President Rajesh Sharma, Padma Shri T.V. Mohandas Pai, and Shailesh Trivedi, among other dignitaries from various fields, were present.

Mumbai as the Future FinTech Capital
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that while Mumbai is already the financial capital of the country, it will soon become the FinTech capital. The World Hindu Economic Forum has proposed various concepts for development based on India’s cultural principles. He highlighted the fundamental differences between Western and Hindu cultures, noting that Western culture emphasizes development by the capable, while Hindu culture believes every individual has the right to develop.

India’s Growth and Global Impact
He reflected on India’s growth post-independence, saying that earlier it was believed that India’s economy would not survive, but today, India’s rapid progress has astonished the world. Despite its large population, India is emerging as the third-largest global power, and its human resources are vital to its development.

Maharashtra’s Rapid Development
Maharashtra is advancing rapidly, said Fadnavis, adding that a consultant committee has been established to make the state the most developed in the country. Based on the committee’s advice, policies have been made to foster growth in specific sectors. The state government is focusing on building an advanced logistics system, including the Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Mahamarg, a 700-kilometer highway that connects 16 districts and links directly to the JNPT port, ensuring an efficient supply chain.

Strengthening Infrastructure and Maritime Power
Fadnavis emphasized the state government’s efforts to improve infrastructure, including roads, air transport, and port development. He also mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to make Maharashtra a maritime power, with plans for a port three times the size of JNPT that will accommodate the world’s largest ships.

Development Initiatives and Vision for India’s Future
He also lauded the development policies of the current government, inspired by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and the vision of PM Narendra Modi, who has accelerated the growth of infrastructure. Over the last decade, 25 crore people have been lifted above the poverty line, and India’s Hindu model of development is being recognized globally. India aims to become a 5 trillion-dollar economy by 2030, with some economic institutions predicting the country could reach a 7 or 9 trillion-dollar economy. The focus is on technology-driven growth, sustainable development, and green energy initiatives.

The Role of Human Resources in India’s Development
Padma Shri T.V. Mohandas Pai, one of the key speakers, emphasized that India’s human resources are the backbone of its development. For India to become a global superpower, key factors such as quality education, healthcare, digital technology, and women’s empowerment need to be prioritized.

This conference explored the various facets of development necessary to make India a global leader in the future.
