Legislative Council elections: All five BJP candidates win, big blow to Congress!

Mumbai. Special Representative

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has once again won the crucial Assembly elections. All the five BJP candidates have won. Also, both the NCP and Shiv Sena candidates have won, while Congress’ Bhai Jagtap has lost in this election. This defeat is considered a big blow to the Congress.

The election process for the ten seats in the Legislative Council has just been completed. A total of 285 MLAs have exercised their voting right in this election.

BJP had fielded 5 candidates in this election. BJP’s Pravin Darekar, Ram Shinde, Uma Khapre and Shrikant Bharatiya have won. Prasad Lad’s result is pending.

Shiv Sena’s Sachin Ahir and Amashya Padvi have won. Eknath Khadse and Ramraje Naik Nimbalkar have won from NCP. Bhai Jagtap and Chandrakant Handore from Congress are contesting the elections and their results are also pending.

Meanwhile, the Congress had objected to the voting of Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs Laxman Jagtap and Mukta Tilak. The matter was reported to the Central Election Commission. Two hours later, the Election Commission dismissed all the allegations made by the Congress. After this the counting of votes began.

Meanwhile, both sides were shocked in the counting of votes in the Legislative Council. One vote from NCP’s Ram Raje’s quota and one vote from BJP’s Uma Khapere’s quota were dropped. Therefore, a new quota of 25.71 was fixed for the first preference quota. The NCP had now appealed to the Central Election Commission (CEC) against the decision.
