After the Monsoon Session of the Legislature resumed today after a consecutive three-day break, the opposition, including the farmers, tried to trap the government in a dilemma over various issues. NCP leader and MLA Dhananjay Munde and MLA Sandeep Kshirsagar have presented the statistics in front of the House saying that the government is being duped by the tanker contractors in the name of water supply.
There is a discrepancy between the actual number of rounds made by tankers in the village and the actual water supply, besides, the distance between the village and the water supply center is 40 km, but it is being shown as 52 km. GPS trackers are installed, but the trackers are off. Tanker’s tracker is mounted on a two-wheeler and rotated. Sandeep Kshirsagar and Dhananjay Munde raised the question saying that no e-tender rules are being followed and the contract is being awarded to the same contractor for years.
Water Supply Minister Gulabrao Patil answered this question in the presence of NCP MLAs. “The information given by Sandeep Kshirsagar is very important and will be immediately investigated by the Divisional Commissioner,” he said. After that, former minister Rajesh Tope also jumped into this and demanded that this is not only a problem limited to Beed, but an inquiry should be made into how many places in the state the government has been embezzled. Meanwhile, after Rajesh Tope’s demand, Gulabrao Patil has assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted as to whether any malpractices have taken place in Beed district as well.
