Decided… Shinde cabinet will be expanded on ‘this’ day?

Mumbai: Although the rebel faction of Shiv Sena and BJP government have been formed in the state under the leadership of Eknath Shinde, the cabinet expansion of this government is yet to be done. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis are currently driving the state by holding cabinet meetings. Therefore, arrows of criticism are being fired at the Shinde government from the opposition. Against this backdrop, a senior BJP leader in the state, on condition of anonymity, has given information about when the cabinet expansion will take place and has also commented on the monsoon session.
The presidential election is being held today. After this election, the cabinet will be expanded on 20th or 21st of July and the allocation of accounts will be decided,’ a BJP leader has confided. Also, the Monsoon Session of the Legislature will also be held in the next 10 days. This BJP leader has also said that since there will be a period of 10 days, the new minister will understand his account and answer the questions of the opposition in the session.

BJP hopes for more ministerial positions
BJP has given Eknath Shinde, who has the support of 50 MLAs, a chance for the post of Chief Minister to topple the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in the state. But BJP has 106 MLAs in the Legislative Assembly. Therefore, even if the post of Chief Minister is with Shinde, BJP will try to keep weighty accounts in the cabinet. Giving information about the cabinet expansion, the said BJP leader has said that, ‘The party has to strike a good balance in the cabinet. Because after the code of conduct for Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections in 2024, the government will not be able to take any major decisions. Therefore, the newly formed cabinet will have a period of 18 months to work.’

Differences of opinion in the Shinde group over the nature of the oath ceremony
It is understood that the Shiv Sena MLAs, who rebelled against Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, have differences of opinion regarding the swearing-in of ministers. Considering the state of rain, some MLAs say that the swearing-in ceremony should not be grandiose, on the other hand, it is reported that some Shiv Sena MLAs have demanded that the swearing-in ceremony should be held in Vidhan Bhavan area. But no one has officially commented on this yet.
