Time-Bound Planning Directed for Energy Infrastructure Projects

Mumbai | The state government’s policy is to provide affordable and maximum electricity to the public. To strengthen the energy sector’s infrastructure, the Energy Department must undertake time-bound planning. There is a growing need to focus on green energy development, and priority must be given to completing energy distribution projects within scheduled timelines, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
He made these remarks while reviewing various energy department schemes at Sahyadri Guest House. Present at the meeting were Minister for Non-Conventional Energy Atul Save (via video conferencing), Minister of State Meghana Sakore-Bordikar, Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) Abha Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) O.P. Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary (Planning) Rajgopal Deora, Principal Secretary (Rural Development) Eknath Dawale, Principal Secretary (Urban Development) Dr. K.H. Govindraj, Principal Secretary to the CM Ashwini Bhide, Secretary Dr. Shrikkar Pardeshi, and heads of MSEDCL, MSETCL, MAHAGENCO, and MEDA.

Complete the Chief Minister’s Solar Agricultural Feeder Scheme 2.0 by December 2025, as it is a game-changer in the energy sector.

Under the PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme, solar electrification of all government buildings in the state should be expedited by completing surveys and accelerating implementation through MEDA.

For the Model Solar Village initiative, MEDA and MSEDCL should work jointly.

Ensure that each project under MEDA, Generation, and Transmission sectors is completed on time following the Gati Shakti scheme model.
