BJP increases strength in Pimpri-Chinchwad; Opportunity for Uma Khapre on Legislative Council

Pimpri: Elections will be held for ten seats of the Legislative Council in the state. BJP has finalized its names for five of them. The names of state women president Uma Khapre, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Pravin Darekar, declining MLA Prasad Lad, former minister Ram Shinde and BJP’s state general secretary Shrikant Bhartiya have been finalized. By giving Uma Khapre a chance in the Legislative Council, BJP has increased its strength in Pimpri-Chinchwad and it will benefit in the upcoming municipal elections.

Darekar and Lad have got a second chance, while Ram Shinde has been given a chance in the assembly as he was defeated by NCP’s Rohit Pawar from Karjat Jamkhed constituency. Khapre and Bharatiya have got the opportunity for the first time. BJP circles are expressing surprise that Khapre got a chance by defeating Pankaja Munde and Chitra Wagh.

Who are Uma Khapre –

Uma Khapre was a two-time BJP corporator in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. She was the Leader of Opposition in 2001-02. He is known as a very loyal colleague of late Gopinath Munde. He has been working in various positions in the state BJP executive for the last 20 years. Being an extremely aggressive style has given them the opportunity. On behalf of the BJP, they have staged agitation all over the state against the grand alliance government. She became known as Ranaragini who lodged a direct police complaint against Shiv Sena’s Deepali Syed.

Senior BJP leader and general secretary Shrikant Bharatiya is widely known. Shrikant Bharatiya is regarded as one of the most learned and loyal activists in the BJP. During the BJP state government, he served as the OSD to then Chief Minister and now Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Devendra Fadnavis for five consecutive years. His contribution to social work is immense.
