Nashik: Police have arrested four suspects in connection with the murder of Sufi saint Khwaja Syed Zarif Ahmad Chishti alias Zarif Baba. It is clear that this murder was done to grab Baba’s property. But, from where did Zarif Baba, who was originally from Afghanistan and came to India as a refugee, have such unaccounted assets. Along with this, BJP leader and MLA Adv. Ashish Shelar has given to Director General of Police Rajnish Seth. Due to this, the murder investigation has now taken a political turn.
On the night of July 5, Zarif Baba was shot dead in Chichondi ‘MIDC’ in Yevala. Rural Superintendent of Police Sachin Patil had clarified that there was no reference to ‘Nupur Sharma’ case behind this murder. After ten days, four suspects including Baba’s driver were arrested. He was remanded in police custody and sent to judicial custody. Police are looking for two others involved in the murder. Political issues are being discussed in this case since the investigation started.
