Pimpri-Chinchwad: The Akashchinha and License Department of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has intensified action against unauthorized advertising hoardings in the city. Over the past two months, a total of 36,000 unauthorized flexes, banners, kiosks, and hoardings have been removed. Additionally, approximately ₹47,000 in fines have been collected from unauthorized hoarding holders, and two criminal cases have been filed.
In the first campaign held from October 14 to 21, 2024, 28,000 unauthorized flexes, banners, and hoardings were removed. After the state assembly elections, a second campaign was conducted from November 27 to December 4, during which an additional 8,000 unauthorized flexes and kiosks were removed.
Unauthorized flexes, kiosks, and hoardings have been disfiguring the city, creating safety risks for citizens and posing a threat to the environment. Therefore, the crackdown on unauthorized hoardings will continue. To further intensify the action, a detailed action plan for the next two weeks will be prepared in consultation with regional officers.
A meeting was held with hoarding holders and regional officers to discuss the action plan for advertising hoardings in the city. The goal is to ensure coordination between hoarding holders and the municipal corporation while strictly enforcing the rules. Penal action is being taken against those who install hoardings without authorization. Hoardings that fail to meet the required criteria, such as proper dimensions, color work, or QR code placement, will be deemed unauthorized and dismantled after a notice is issued.
Dismantling Hazardous Hoardings Preventive measures are being taken to address the potential risks posed by hazardous advertising hoardings. Regular inspections of hoardings in different areas are being carried out by license inspectors. Dr. Pradeep Tengale, Deputy Commissioner of the Akashchinha and License Department, has urged hoarding holders to comply with the rules.
