Pune: The brutal murder of Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh has deeply hurt the Maratha community. In response to this, Manoj Jarange, a prominent Maratha activist, stated that the community would take to the streets with protests across the state if justice was not served. He emphasized that this murder had struck at the heart of the community, and he was now directly addressing the Chief Minister. He mentioned that Marathas had remained calm up until now based on the assurances given by the Chief Minister.
Following the deaths of Santosh Deshmukh and Somnath Suryavanshi, a public protest march was organized from Lal Mahal to the District Collector’s office on Sunday. Manoj Jarange, speaking to the media, called on the Chief Minister to rein in Dhananjay Munde. He warned that if Munde’s actions continued against the Maratha community, they would not stop. Jarange also warned that if they were provoked further, they would retaliate with similar protests, just as the community had been previously protected by their own.
