Pune:The work of the District Collector’s office and Zilla Parishad will become paperless in the new year. Starting from the new year, all branches of the District Collector’s office will operate in a paperless manner. In addition, the Pune Zilla Parishad has already started moving towards e-office operations. As of now, 17 departments of the Zilla Parishad have switched from offline files to online methods. Over 3,000 files are now online, allowing citizens to check the current status of any file with a single click.

This move is expected to expedite long-pending tasks and bring them to completion on time, according to the administration. Officials from various branches of the District Collector’s office, including revenue, land records, general administration, elections, minor minerals, rehabilitation, land acquisition, protocol, planning committee, accounts, home, Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana, municipal corporation, employment guarantee scheme, supply department, and urban planning, have been instructed to adopt the e-system. Currently, more than 50% of the work has been completed, and dedicated government e-mail IDs have been created for all officers, including Deputy Collectors, Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, clerks, and senior clerks. Additionally, digital signatures have been created for each officer. By the new year, the work will be fully paperless.

The District Collector’s office will adopt the e-office system across all branches to receive and manage applications, revenue cases, claims, pending judgments, and more in a timely manner.

As per the state government’s directive, the transition to e-office in the Zilla Parishad began gradually six months ago. Currently, 70% of the work in the General Administration Department is online, while other departments have reached 50%. In the new year, all departments will quickly shift to full online operations.

The new year will also see progress on key projects, including the completion of the Ring Road, distribution of solar pumps to farmers, promotion of entrepreneurship and self-employment, and initiatives to reduce road accidents. Completing the Ring Road project is a top priority, and the land acquisition process for it was completed by December 31. The remaining land acquisition will be completed in the first month of the new year, and work will begin soon after. Special training will be provided to develop new entrepreneurs across sectors like agriculture, industry, startups, and IT. The administration also plans various measures to prevent road accidents.
