Pimpri: Police Sub-Inspector Dies in Accident

Pimpri Chinchwad : A tragic incident occurred at the start of the new year within the city police force. Police Sub-Inspector Jitendra Suresh Girnar tragically lost his life in a car accident while on his way to conduct a checkpoint inspection. The incident took place early on Wednesday (January 1) near Mahalunge. A container truck, suddenly changing lanes, collided with Girnar’s car, causing a severe crash. The car was badly damaged, and Girnar died on the spot.

Accident During Checkpoint Inspection
Girnar had been working at the Mahalunge MIDC Police Station for the past year. The checkpoint and traffic inspections were ongoing during the year-end period. While traveling near the Mahindra company area, Girnar’s car collided with a container truck that suddenly changed lanes. Due to the severe injuries sustained in the crash, Girnar succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by Senior Police Inspector Nitin Geete.

From Constable to Sub-Inspector
Girnar had initially joined the Pune City Police as a constable. After passing the internal exams, he was promoted to the position of Police Sub-Inspector in 2016. He had served at the Wakad Police Station and later at the Mahalunge MIDC Police Station during his tenure in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Department.

Funeral in His Native Village
Girnar was originally from Dhule district. He is survived by his parents, wife, and a three-year-old daughter. After the post-mortem, his body was sent to his native village, where he was laid to rest in Dhule.

Condolences in the Police Department
The accident, resulting in the death of a police officer on the first day of the year, has left the police department deeply saddened.
Police Sub-Inspector Jitendra Girnar was on his way to inspect a security checkpoint in his private vehicle when the accident occurred. The container truck suddenly changed lanes, causing the crash. An investigation into the case is underway.
