Three Junctions and Subways Planned to Ease Traffic Between Nashik Phata and Moshi”

Measures to Minimize Traffic During Elevated Corridor Project

Pimpri, Pune । As construction continues on the elevated corridor between Nashik Phata and Khed on Pune Nashik highway, the efforts are being made to minimize traffic disruptions for the residents of Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Mahesh Landge, BJP MLA of the Bhosari Assembly Constituency, has directed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to prioritize the construction of three proposed junctions and subways at Jay Ganesh Samrajya Spine Road, Bharatmata Chowk in Moshi, and Bhosari. These measures aim to ensure smooth traffic flow during the project’s initial phase.

The Central Government has approved the eight-lane elevated corridor from Nashik Phata to Khed on the Pune-Nashik Highway, with a budget allocation of approximately ₹7,500 crore recently. This approval was secured through the positive intervention of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.

A meeting to discuss the project was held at the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) head office, attended by Mahesh Landge, PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Nashik Phata to Khed Elevated Corridor Project Manager Sanjay Kadam, Chief Engineer Shrikant Savane, Deputy City Engineer Pramod Ombase, Executive Engineer Bapusab Gaikwad, and other concerned officials.

With the tender process for the project underway, a joint meeting between the Municipal Corporation and NHAI was conducted to expedite the work. During this meeting, NHAI officials presented an overview of the project.

To improve the traffic management in Bhosari, Talwade, Chikhali and Moshi, Mahesh Landge has also suggested the construction of an underpass near Bhairavnath High School and Junior College for the convenience of students and parents.

“The 32-kilometer elevated corridor from Nashik Phata to Khed will be a crucial link connecting key economic centers in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and the Chakan industrial area. Once completed, the journey between Nashik Phata and Khed will be reduced to just a few minutes, permanently alleviating traffic congestion in the Talwade-Chikhli-Moshi-Bhosari area. However, it is essential that measures are taken to prevent traffic issues for citizens during the construction phase”
