Mumbai: Climate change is causing various disasters. Nature cannot be ignored. Therefore, we have to take care of the planet and move towards sustainable development. This requires a concerted effort by all. Let us all fulfill this responsibility together, said Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. He also lauded Aditya Thackeray saying that the Ministry of Environment and the Minister of Environment are doing a good job.

Various measures are being taken by the state government to prevent the adverse effects of climate change. As a part of this, ‘Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan 2.0’ is being implemented in the local bodies of the state to create a prosperous environment. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat and Environment and Climate Change Minister Aditya Thackeray honored the best performing local bodies, divisional and district level officials at a function organized on the occasion of World Environment Day. The Chief Minister said that every factor is important in the environment. The ‘My Earth Campaign’ is a great example of how any venture can be successful if we are all one team and if we all work together. He expressed his delight at the participation of all members of my family in the corners of the state. Development must happen, but it must lead to sustainability by protecting the environment. In the last few years, the state government has taken practical steps to make the next generation happier from the damage caused by heavy rains in a few days. According to him, there is a need to re-establish our old culture of caring for the planet.

The Chief Minister said that it is time to think about what development should be called. “We have come a long way in preserving nature and its wildlife,” he said. He said that the need for oxygen from trees was felt most during the Kovid period. Mentioning that a city with rich wildlife like Mumbai is not found anywhere else in the world, the fruits of the work being done today for the protection of environment may not be seen now but it will definitely benefit the next generation, said the Chief Minister. “It’s time to listen to the call of nature,” he said. He congratulated all those who have done excellent work under this campaign.
