If you want to vote for the Legislative Council, file a new petition. Nawab Malik of the High Court is not relieved

Mumbai: Minister Nawab Malik, who is in judicial custody in a money laundering case, tried in the Mumbai High Court to allow him to vote in the Legislative Council elections after the Rajya Sabha. However, the court did not grant any relief to Malik. If you want to vote for the Legislative Council, then file a new petition, the court said.

  • Withdraw the petition and file a fresh petition, instructing the advocates of Justice Malik

The Bombay High Court has refused to hear Nawab Malik’s earlier plea to allow him to vote on the Legislative Council elections, allowing him to amend the petition. “It was a Rajya Sabha election. In it, you (Malik) had filed a petition against the order of the special PMLA court. With the election over, the petition is now in vain. Therefore, your request for a hearing cannot be granted by making substantial amendments in the same petition. Withdraw this petition and file a new one, ”said Justice Prakash Naik to Malik’s lawyers.

  • Nawab Malik withdrew the earlier petition

We will clarify the role in consultation with the petitioners’ representatives, “said advocate Prakash Naik. Minister Nawab Malik has withdrawn the earlier petition seeking permission to vote in the Rajya Sabha elections and has sought permission from the High Court to file a fresh petition.

Nawab Malik, who is in judicial custody, and Anil Deshmukh, a former home minister, have tried in the Mumbai High Court to allow them to vote in the Rajya Sabha elections after the Rajya Sabha. Nawab Malik’s petition was heard on Monday afternoon. Deshmukh’s petition is likely to be heard on Wednesday (June 15). It remains to be seen whether the court will decide on their petition, whether they will be able to vote in the Legislative Council elections or whether the Maha Vikas Aghadi will be affected in the Rajya Sabha elections as well as in the Rajya Sabha.
