Baramati: The incident took place at Diamond Chowk on Supe-Morgaon Ashtavinayak road in Baramati taluka. Four people were crushed by the truck and one woman died on the spot while three others were undergoing treatment at the hospital.
On the Supe-Morgaon road, a truck loaded with sugar rammed into the Diamond Hotel near Shah Mansoor Baba Dargah at midnight. It is learned that the accident took place when the drunk driver lost control of the truck. The deceased has been identified as Qazi (age 45, resident of Supa, Tal. Baramati). Also injured were Dilawar Ismailbhai Qazi (age 50), Soyal Dilawar Qazi (age 25, both residents of Supa, Tal. Baramati) and Mujaid Ali Ahmed Ali Syed (resident of Bijnor, Tal. Dhampur, Uttar Pradesh). The injured were rushed to the Rural Hospital at Supe and Sai Darshan Hospital at Kedgaon. Also, after the accident, a large crowd had gathered at the spot. Assistant Inspector Lande is investigating the matter further.
