Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Ready to Welcome Ashadhi Wari Palkhi Procession!

Pimpri Chinchwad | The city of Pimpri Chinchwad is preparing to welcome the Ashadhi Wari Palkhi procession of the revered saints, Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj. Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s palkhi will arrive at Bhakti-Shakti Chowk on June 19, while Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj’s palkhi will enter the city on June 20. To ensure a grand welcome for both palkhis, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is fully prepared. Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh personally inspected the palkhi route today.

During this inspection, several officials were present, including the trustee of the Vitthal Mandir, Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil, City Engineer Makarand Nikam, Deputy Commissioners of Police Swapna Gore and Shivaji Pawar, Assistant Commissioner of Police Sachin Hire, Assistant City Engineers Bapusaheb Gaikwad, Devanna Gattuvar, Nitin Deshmukh, Deputy Commissioner Anna Bodade, Sachin Pawar, Rajesh Aghale, Regional Officer Kirankumar More, Chief Disaster Management Officer Omprakash Bahival, Executive Engineers Vijay Vaikar, Vaishali Nanavare, Shivaji Wadkar, Santosh Durge, Health Officer Ganesh Deshpande, Administrative Officer Dnyaneshwar Dhawale, Assistant Health Officer Raju Sable, and Police Inspectors Bapu Dere and Bhojraj Misal, along with other departmental officers and staff.

Commissioner Shekhar Singh stated that the police must confirm that there will be no obstruction on the palkhi route before the municipal corporation grants any permissions. He directed that road repairs and electrical works be completed within the next two days. He also instructed that encroachments on the palkhi route be removed and monsoon-related disaster management measures be taken. Drinking water arrangements should be made, and ambulances should be stationed at necessary points to provide emergency medical assistance.

Once the Ashadhi Wari Palkhi enters Pimpri Chinchwad city limits, all warkaris, trustees, and dindi leaders will be welcomed by the municipal corporation at Bhakti-Shakti Chowk in Nigdi, as is done every year. Commissioner Singh reviewed the setup for the welcome center and the related arrangements at this location during his inspection.

He also visited Vitthal Mandir in Akurdi, where the palkhi of Sant Tukaram Maharaj halts for the night. Additionally, Singh inspected and reviewed preparations at Vitthal-Rukmini Mandir in Kharalwadi, Khandoba Mal, and Kalbhor Nagar, which are designated halting points for the palkhi procession.
