Major Traffic Changes in Pune District for Vijayastambh Salutation Event; Know More
Temporary change in traffic orders issued

Pune:Perne (Tal. Haveli): Every year, on January 1st, a large number of followers gather at the Vijayastambh Salutation event in Perne. This event usually causes heavy traffic congestion on the Pune-Ahilya Nagar Highway No. 60. To avoid traffic jams this year, temporary changes have been ordered by the District Magistrate, Santosh Patil, from 5:00 PM on December 31, 2024, to 12:00 AM on January 1, 2025.
According to the orders, all types of traffic from both directions—Chakan to Shikrapur and Shikrapur to Chakan—will be completely closed during this period. Heavy vehicles coming from Ahilya Nagar toward Pune will be diverted through Shirur, Nhavara Phata, Nhavara, Pargav, Choufula, Yavat, and Hadapsar.
Alternate Routes for Vehicles Coming from Mumbai to Ahilya Nagar:
- Heavy vehicles heading from Pune to Ahilya Nagar will be diverted through Kharadi Outer Ring Road, Hadapsar, and Pune-Solapur Highway via Choufula and Kedgaon toward Nhavara, and from there to the Shirur-Ahilya Nagar route.
- Heavy vehicles, trucks, and tempos traveling towards Alandi and Chakan from Solapur Highway will be diverted via Hadapsar, Magarpatta, Kharadi Outer Ring Road to Vishrantwadi, then to Alandi and Chakan.
- Heavy vehicles like trucks and tempos coming from Mumbai to Ahilya Nagar will be diverted through Wadgaon Maval, Chakan, Khed, Manchar, Narayangav, and Alifata to reach Ahilya Nagar.
- Light vehicles such as cars and jeeps traveling from Mumbai to Ahilya Nagar will follow a similar route via Wadgaon Maval, Chakan, Khed, Pabal, and Shirur.
These changes aim to ensure smoother traffic flow during the large-scale event.
