Free Preventive Vaccination to Protect Livestock from Lumpy Skin Disease

Initiative by Dinesh Yadav; Launch of Free Vaccination Drive

Pimpri Chinchwad | With the onset of the monsoon season, cases of Lumpy Skin Disease, a contagious infection affecting cows and buffaloes, are on the rise. To ensure early diagnosis after infection and provide necessary medical facilities, appropriate instructions have been issued. However, to prevent the disease altogether, awareness and a vaccination campaign are being conducted, said former nominated corporator Dinesh Yadav. He also mentioned that a free vaccination drive has been launched to protect livestock from lumpy disease.

To curb the spread of this contagious disease among animals, vaccination has been rapidly started in Chikhali, Kudulwadi, and Balgharevasti, under the guidance of Bhosari Assembly MLA Mahesh Landge and with the support of Dinesh Yadav. As part of the campaign, animals were inspected and vaccinated.

Speaking on the matter, Dinesh Yadav said that livestock must be protected, especially during the monsoon. Therefore, the vaccination drive in Chikhali, Kudulwadi, and Balgharevasti was conducted in a systematic manner.
He urged farmers to take care of their livestock and immediately contact veterinary officers if symptoms of lumpy disease appear.

Municipal Corporation Takes Initiative for Livestock Protection!

To control the spread of lumpy disease, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has organized treatment and vaccination drives for animals. All livestock owners are requested to contact veterinary officers and get their animals vaccinated.

Lumpy skin disease is highly contagious among animals, and therefore, preventive measures are more important than treatment after infection. If the disease does occur, steps must be taken to prevent its spread, said
Arun Dagade, Veterinary Officer, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.
