When will the fire audit of 160 buildings in Gharkul? Pimpri Municipality says

Residents are demanding that a fire audit should be conducted for safety reasons so that there should be no fire incident in this building for the last ten years.

Pimpri-Chinchwad: The municipal corporation has constructed 160 buildings for economically weaker sections of society in the Chikhli development authority area. Around 20,000 to 25,000 people reside in these buildings. Fire safety kits have been installed in these buildings, but residents have been demanding a fire audit for the past ten years to ensure safety and prevent any fire incidents. However, the municipal corporation is accused of neglecting their responsibility.

The Commissioner has completely ignored the demand for a fire audit of the houses built for the economically weaker sections. A reminder was issued on October 3, 2023, hoping for action, but even that has been ignored. In the meantime, the residents urge the municipal corporation to take preventive measures for the safety of the citizens before a fire occurs. Due to the negligence of the municipal administration, the lives of common citizens are at risk. The residents also blame the Commissioner for the deficiencies in fire safety arrangements and the failure to conduct a fire audit, which has led to potential life and property hazards.

No Fire Audit in Ten Years… It has been ten years since the 160 buildings for the economically weaker sections were constructed in the city. Thousands of citizens live in these buildings, and it is essential to ensure their safety. Although fire safety kits are installed in each building to prevent fire incidents, these kits are now ten years old. Fire-related accidents continue to happen frequently. Despite having all the necessary resources, the municipal corporation has failed to use them to ensure the safety of the public. The residents demand that the municipal corporation take the necessary precautions for the safety of the people and conduct a fire audit of all the buildings in the housing complex.
