India’s Largest Agricultural Exhibition ‘Kisan’ Begins in Moshi; Event to Run Until December 15

Pimpri Chinchwad : The inauguration of ‘Kisan,’ India’s largest agricultural exhibition, was done by the first group of farmers attending the exhibition. The event is being held at the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Centre, Moshi, Pune, from December 11 to December 15, 2024.

Spread over 15 acres, more than 500 companies, research institutions, and startups will showcase new agricultural technologies and products. It is estimated that over one lakh farmers from across the country will attend the exhibition over its five days. The main objective of the Kisan Exhibition is to bring modern technology and new ideas to the farmers.

The exhibition has received support and cooperation from renowned agricultural institutions. This year, the Kisan Exhibition has dedicated halls for protected farming, water management, agricultural inputs, machinery, livestock, bio-energy, horticulture, and small agricultural industries. Each hall will feature stalls from companies within the respective sectors for farmers to visit. The exhibition of farming machinery and equipment is being held in an open space.

Pre-registration: There is a facility for pre-registration via a mobile app at the exhibition entrance. Over 30,000 farmers have already registered, and the number is expected to exceed 100,000.

Kisan Now on Mobile: Along with attending the physical exhibition, exhibitor companies can also publish their products’ digital listings on the Kisan app. Farmers can access information about various products from the comfort of their homes and watch related videos on their mobile devices. Exhibitors and visitors can start interacting through the Kisan app even before meeting at the physical exhibition.

Soil Health Initiative – ‘MatiMol’: This year, Kisan is organizing ‘MatiMol,’ an initiative focused on highlighting the importance of soil health. The objective is to start a discussion about whether our soil is alive and to raise awareness among the farming community about soil health. Let’s better understand the condition of our soil through ‘MatiMol.’ This initiative is being organized in collaboration with the Department of Biotechnology and aligned departments of Savitribai Phule Pune University.

Business Lounge: A Business Lounge has been set up for exhibitors and visitors to engage in professional discussions. This lounge will encourage agricultural professionals to connect, collaborate, or form partnerships.

Location: The Kisan Exhibition is being held at the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Centre, with the exhibition grounds being maintained by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA).
