MLA Nawab Malik, who was arrested by the ED in a special court on Wednesday in a money laundering case, had dealings with Hasina Parkar, sister of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. He said that there is no question of her innocence. Additional Solicitor General ASG Anil Singh made this argument during the hearing of Malik’s bail application by the ED. At this time, he requested the court to reject the application. NCP leader Malik (63) was arrested by the ED on February 23 in a money laundering case related to the probe into dealings involving Dawood Ibrahim and his accomplices. He is currently in judicial custody.

Malik, who is the Minority Development Minister in the Maharashtra government, was arrested on February 23 by the Enforcement Directorate or ED. This action caused a great stir. The action was taken in a case filed against underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. This case is related to land transaction and Malik has been accused of terror funding and money laundering. All these allegations have been rejected by Malik and he says that the action of ED is illegal. Malik had knocked the door of Bombay High Court against the arrest. However, they did not find relief there. That is why he went to the Supreme Court.
