According to information given by Senior Police Inspector of Karjat Police Station Chandrashekhar Yadav, Sadguru Godad Maharaj’s Rath Yatra was going to be held this year after almost two years. Therefore, the Rath Yatra would be crowded with devotees. Taking advantage of the crowd in the Rath Yatra, many inn thieves participated in this yatra from different districts and parishes to rob the citizens, steal jewellery, cash, etc. However, the Karjat police had come to the ground with the resolve to ‘carry out this year’s Rath Yatra with enthusiasm without causing any kind of trouble to the citizens’.

The Karjat police in the form of Vitthal, with his hands on his waist while raining on his body, watched the thieves out of the crowd with a strange look. As soon as the police noticed, the thieves were entering the crowd. There are very few people who literally appreciate this alertness of the Karjat police.
