Against this backdrop, MNS activists from all over the state are putting up banners in their respective areas and wishing Raj a happy birthday. A similar greeting banner was put up in Mumbra area of Thane. However, on the night of 13th June, some unknown person tore down this banner. After this incident, MNS activists have become aggressive and action is being demanded against those involved.
Irfan Syed had put up banners in Mumbra area to wish Raj Thackeray a happy birthday. The banner was hoisted on the street in front of Nurani Hotel in Mumbra. However, some of these banners have been torn down by unknown individuals. At a public meeting held in Thane by Raj Thackeray, he had protested against the noise made on mosques. He also appealed to the activists to raise Hanuman Chalisa in front of these mosques in a loud voice. After that, the atmosphere in Mumbra got heated and stones were hurled at the office of MNS office bearer Irfan Syed in the area. This is how a new controversy has arisen as the banners have been torn down once again.
Meanwhile, Irfan Syed has given all this information to senior party functionaries and said that the incident took place while he was out on business. It is learned that Irfan Syed will lodge a complaint at Mumbra Police Station. So it will be important to see what action the police take against those who tear down banners.
