Pune: A youth accused of murder in Hadapsar area has been stabbed to death in the face and head by three persons. The deceased has been identified as Mangesh Kishor Shingade (26, resident of Kumar Shingade Colony, Papadevasti, Bhekrainagar). The incident took place in front of Mr. Multipurpose Hall near Bhekrai Bus Depot at Fursungi around 7.30 pm on Monday.
After receiving information about the murder, a team of Crime Branch Unit 5 arrested three accused who were preparing to flee to Karnataka. His names are Kiran Vitthal Dhotre (age 19), Ajay Sachin Mane (age 20, resident of Doghe Bhekrainagar), Prashant Shankar Hiremath (age 19, resident of Dhamalwadi Hadapsar). The three have been handed over to Hadapsar police for further action. Raju Vishnu Shingade (53, resident of Papadevasti) has lodged a complaint in this regard. According to the information given by the police, a case was registered against Mangesh Shingade in 2016. He was released from prison a few months ago. Shingade was attacked with an iron scythe by the assailants while he was in front of Shree Multipurpose Hall near Bhekrai bus depot in Fursungi on Monday evening. He was stabbed in the face and head and killed. The assailants fled after Mangesh fell there in a pool of blood. Upon receiving the information, Deputy Commissioner of Police Namrata Patil, Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajendra Galande, Inspector of Police Dingambar Shinde and Vishwas Dagle visited the spot.
Meanwhile, the crime branch was searching for the accused after receiving information about Shingade’s murder. At that time, the team had received information through technical analysis and a reporter that Shingade was killed by Kiran, Prashant and Ajay, who are currently staying at Loni Tolanaka. From there it will travel to Prashant’s hometown in Karnataka. A team comprising Inspector Hemant Patil, Assistant Inspector Krishna Babar, Sub-Inspector Avinash Lohote, staff Akbar Sheikh, Pramod Tillekar and Ramesh Sable arrested the three. During the interrogation, it became clear that there was an argument between the accused and Shingade two days ago. During the argument, Shingade had insulted the accused. The three reached Shingade on Monday evening and attacked him with a scythe. He died of his injuries.
