Pimpri-Chinchwad is known as the land of Warakaris in the vicinity of Shrikshetra Dehu and Shrikshetra Alandi. Ashadh Wari Palkhi ceremony is a blessing for us Pimpri-Chinchwadkars. This is an opportunity to serve Warakaris. This tradition which has been going on for years and the service of Warakaris will continue in the future too, said BJP city president and MLA Mahesh Landage.

Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s 337th Ashadi Wari Palkhi ceremony was welcomed at Nigdi, Bhakti-Shikti Chowk. On this occasion, on behalf of Bharatiya Janata Party, Farals and snacks were distributed to Warakari and devotees. The palanquin procession then proceeded to stay at Akurdi. A large number of citizens including BJP office bearers and activists were present in the city.

Due to the crisis of Kovid, Padharpur Ashadi Wari ceremony has not been held in last two years. However, this year, Kovid’s woes are over. Therefore, the Palkhi ceremony is in full swing. On Tuesday, Pakhli ceremony was held from Shrikshetra Dehu. Jagad Guru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi was welcomed by the people of Bhakti-Shakti Chowk at Nigdi, the entrance of Pimpri-Chinchwad city. On this occasion, gifts were given to the Dindi chiefs in the presence of MLA Landage. Devotees were given laddu, water bottle, first aid box, hats, farala etc.
