President Draupadi Murmu addressed the nation on the eve of Indian Independence Day. As our environment faces new challenges, we must strongly protect everything related to the beauty of India. Conservation of water, soil and biodiversity is our duty towards our future generations. Despite the financial crisis in the world, the government and policy makers are credited with keeping India’s economy moving forward. The President also said that the country’s economic development is becoming more inclusive and regional disparities are reducing.
The President said that our national values have been enshrined in the Constitution of India as fundamental duties of citizens. Every citizen of the country should know about his basic duties and follow them, so that our nation can reach new heights. When the world was grappling with the economic consequences of the severe Corona crisis, India picked itself up and started moving forward again at a very fast pace. Currently, India is one of the fastest growing major economies in the world. We have resolved to fully realize the dreams of our freedom fighters by the year 2047. We are already ready for the creation of a self-reliant India. This will be an India that has realized its potential. Our performance in dealing with the Corona epidemic is greater than many developed countries in the world. Today our tricolor is flying very brightly in every corner of the country. Our freedom fighters would have been very happy to see such a widespread awareness of the ideals of the freedom struggle. The heroic contribution of peasants and tribal communities remained out of the collective memory of the freedom struggle for a long time. President Draupadi Murmu expressed his sentiments that our tribal heroes are not only a symbol of local-regional glory but also a source of inspiration for the entire country.
