Pimpri: A ‘Pune to Raj Bhavan Mumbai Long March’ will be held on May 1, 2022 on Labor Day to demand that the Central Government repeal the Black Labor Act. Millions of workers from all over the state will participate in this long march. Performed by Kailash Kadam.

Twelve national trade unions across the country had called a two-day all-India industrial strike against the new labor law. Under this, all the office bearers of the trade union joint action committee and thousands of workers had staged agitation in front of the Divisional Commissioner’s Office (Council Hall) in Pune. The two-day strike and dam agitation had received a spontaneous response from the workers.

On the concluding occasion, Dr. Kailash Kadam was speaking. On this occasion, senior leader of Hamal Panchayat Dr. Baba Adhav, Ajit Abhyankar of Situ Sanghatana, Kishor Dhokale of Rashtriya Shramik Ekta Mahasangha, senior leader Manav Kamble, former corporator Maruti Bhapkar, Arun Bo-Hade of NCP Kamgar Cell, Kiran Moghe of Ghar Kamgar Sanghatana, Baban Zinjurde, president of Pimpri Chinchwad Karmachari Mahasangha, Maharashtra Anganwadi staff Shubha Shamim of the union, Yashwant Supekar of the Hind Kamgar Sanghatana, Lata Bhise of the Communist Party of India, Anil Roham of AITC, Manohar Gadekar of INTAC, Vasant Pawar of CITU, Dr. Dnyaneshwar Mote, AIBA Shailesh Tillekar, B.S.N.L. After this agitation, a statement was given to Pune Divisional Deputy Commissioner Santosh Patil on behalf of the Action Committee.

Dr. Kailash Kadam further said that in the absence of any demand from the trade unions, the central government repealed the prevailing labor laws and enacted pro-capitalist laws without taking Parliament into confidence. Therefore, the term ‘permanent worker’ will be permanently banished in the near future. The country’s economy is going to fall into the hands of a handful of industrialists who sell profitable public enterprises to the capitalists. This will have far-reaching effects on all sectors including the workers as well as on the income of the Central and State Governments. Contracting will be expedited in government banks, insurance, defense, BSNL, post, railways, other corporations, local bodies and other quasi-government establishments as in the private sector. This will lead to social and economic exploitation of the workers. Therefore, there is a serious danger of the family system collapsing. This will lead to increase in unemployment and crime. Recognizing this danger, all the workers should now show unity and resolve to continue the fight till the Central Government withdraws these laws. Kailash Kadam gave this time.

Senior leader Dr. Baba Adhav said that these black labor laws and contracting would have far-reaching effects on citizens of all income groups. It will have serious consequences for the low and middle income groups and the slum dwellers. Therefore, citizens of rickshaw, tapari, pathari, hawker classes have also joined the strike.

Senior Labor leader Ajit Abhyankar said that the government has the right to implement the prevailing labor laws in the state by opposing the black labor laws made by the central government. This right is not exercised by the Mahavikas Aghadi government. Its senior officials are considering implementing the law of the central government itself. Ajit Abhyankar also said that all the trade unions have come together to thwart this insidious ploy of the authorities.
