Mahendra Patil, a resident of Anore village in Amalner taluka, had been living with his sister Bharti and sister-in-law Harendra Patil in Ahuja Nagar, Jalgaon since January to study for the competitive examination. On Sunday (May 22), Mahendra’s sister and brother-in-law went to Anore village for their wedding. Sister Bharti had called Mahendra on Tuesday. However, the mobile could not be contacted as it was busy. Therefore, Bharti had been calling Mahendra since Wednesday (May 25) morning. Even then the phone was not ringing. So Bharti contacted his neighbors in Jalgaon and asked them to confirm.
When the neighbor went home, the door was locked from the inside. As there was no response by knocking on the door, the neighbors called the taluka police station and informed the police. A team of Taluka Police Station Inspector Ramkrishna Kumbhar rushed to the spot. Police broke the lock of the window in the back bedroom. At that time, Mahendra was found hanging by a rope. The door lock was broken and the body was taken out and shifted to the district hospital. Relatives mourned seeing the bodies at the district hospital.
What’s in a Suicide Note?
In a letter written by Mahendra before his death, he said, ‘Parents are like God. Life is round. They did a lot for me. My goal is different. But, such a situation has arisen with me. I got low marks in MPSC exam, so I have to make this decision. Finally, Mahendra thanked his parents. The suicide note has been seized by the police.
