India’s largest and most viewed marine adventure swimming expedition

Mumbai: Mr. Jay Koli, President of Maharashtra Boxing Association, expressed his intention to launch Marine Adventure Swimming Campaign keeping in mind the need for awareness in the field of sports while organizing the event under the theme ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’. Similarly, Nagpur District Amateur Swimming Association, National Institute of Swimming, Marine Adventure Swimming Training Center, Juhu Beach, JD Sports Foundation, Indian Divers and Explorers Association.
Freedom from anything but from unsanitary conditions, from water pollution, from drowning competitors in the field of swimming !! To convey the same message to the people, India’s largest and first marine adventure swimming expedition selected the top 50 swimmers in the state for the expedition from Gateway of India to Gharapuri Caves and back from there for a distance of about 31 km. This includes swimmers between the ages of 10 and 60. The poster of the campaign was launched in Nagpur by the state Sports Minister and MLA Sunil Kedar. As he liked the concept, he attended the inauguration on 6th April, 2022 at 6.30 am. At the same time, he expressed his intention to take this campaign to a bigger and international level. “Mumbai is my responsibility. It is my duty to keep her clean. I’ll use the trash. Separate wet and dry waste. I will avoid the temptation of plastic bag and use cloth bag. I will do my best to keep my house, premises and department clean. ” Such an oath was taken by all present. He was accompanied by Additional Director General of Rashtriya Chhatrasena Major General YP Khandori and Director Satyapal Singh. The swim was led by Jayant Jayaprakash Duble, an international swimmer from Nagpur. Although World Maritime Day is on April 5, the study was scheduled for April 6 at 6.30 am considering the tidal schedule for swimming. Dr. Sambhaji Bhosale was the head of the technical committee of this mission. Chief Executive Officer of Solid Waste Management Subhash Dalvi was also present in the campaign.
The largest and first sea swimming expedition in India was supported by the Government of Maharashtra Sports Department, Scout Guard Department, National Student Army Department as well as Maritime Board, Mumbai Port Trust, Swimming Association of Maharashtra.
