Maharashtra’s First Tree Ambulance Launched in Pune on World Environment Day

Trees Are Our Tulsi: One Lakh Nails Removed from Trees, Says Madhav Patil Ongoing efforts under the "Angholichi Goli" Foundation’s Nail-Free Tree Campaign

Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune | Over the past seven years, the “Angholichi Goli” Foundation, in collaboration with other organizations, has successfully removed lakhs of nails from thousands of trees as part of its Nail-Free Tree Campaign. The foundation has also taken significant initiatives to treat and protect infected or damaged trees.

These consistent efforts have now led to the launch of Maharashtra’s first Tree Ambulance, inaugurated on June 5, World Environment Day. The event took place in Pune and was graced by Municipal Commissioner Navalkishore Ram, Additional Commissioner Prithviraj BP, and Chief Garden Superintendent Ashok Ghorpade. Madhav Patil, the president of the “Angholichi Goli” Foundation, and his team were specially invited for the inauguration.

After the ceremony, Madhav Patil elaborated on the Nail-Free Tree initiative, sharing how the ambulance will serve multiple purposes: removing nails from trees, treating termite-infected trees, conducting necessary pesticide sprays, and removing banners and boards hanging dangerously on tree branches.

“This ambulance will provide first aid to trees just like humans receive medical care,” said Patil. He further remarked that June 5 will be remembered in golden letters in the history of tree care.

Present at the event were key members of the foundation including Madhav Patil, Ayuta Rangole, and Sandeep Rangole.
