Firm Stand by Deputy Speaker Anna Bansode on Injustice to Workers: Steps Taken for Thousands of Affected Workers Across the State – Yashwant Bhosale

Pimpri Chinchwad | In the rapidly progressing industrialization of the state, the concerns of laborers and the environment are often overlooked. In such instances of injustice against workers, Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Anna Bansode has taken an active initiative. In various meetings held at his office with industrial companies, significant decisions were made to ensure justice for the aggrieved workers. This information was shared by Rashtriya Shramik Aghadi President Yashwant Bhosale at a press conference held in Pimpri.
On the occasion, Bhosale said that many companies across the state are canceling permanent jobs and instead appointing workers on contract or temporary basis. As a result, the lives of educated youth are being destabilized, forcing them to seek justice through the courts for many years. A memorandum highlighting this issue was submitted to Deputy Speaker Anna Bansode.
Following this, Bansode immediately organized reconciliation meetings with various industrial establishments. These meetings were attended by the Labour Commissioner, Industrial Health and Safety Officers, police officials, company representatives, and union workers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the central government had directed that no worker should be laid off and full wages should be paid. However, several private and government institutions defied these orders and dismissed hundreds of workers. The companies involved included Polybond, Rathi Company, Plastic Omnium, Lokmanya Hospital, Tuljapur Devasthan, among others.
According to orders from the Mumbai High Court and the Labour Commissioner, these workers were to be reinstated. However, for the past five years, the companies have failed to implement the orders and have delayed the process. In one tragic incident, 26-year-old Pushpendra Kumar died while performing fabrication work at Tata Motors Foundry in Chinchwad, after being crushed under a large machine. A memorandum regarding this incident was submitted by Bhosale and journalist Brijesh Badgujar. Deputy Speaker Bansode took serious note of the matter and rejected the company’s claim of paying only ₹6 lakh as compensation. He instructed the submission of a report recommending further educational and financial support for the deceased worker’s family.
In the case of Tuljapur Devasthan, the manager and sub-divisional officer have been ordered to reinstate the dismissed workers within eight days and pay their salaries. This is a fight against companies that are oppressing workers. Due to the active involvement of Deputy Speaker Bansode, there is new hope for justice among workers. Bansode also stated that an order to reinstate the workers of Lokmanya Hospital will soon be issued.
He has instructed that senior officials from the concerned companies, police, and labor departments must be present for the next round of meetings at the government level. If decisions are not made, the government will issue direct orders. Yashwant Bhosale concluded that the steps taken by the government are indeed encouraging and hopeful for workers.
