₹20,000 Grant for Each Dindi Participating in Ashadhi Wari; Government Resolution Issued

Pimpri Chinchwad | A government resolution has been issued today approving a grant of ₹20,000 per dindi (devotee group) for 1,109 dindis accompanying the 10 honored palkhis (palanquins) during the Ashadhi Ekadashi Wari 2025 pilgrimage.

Last year, for the Ashadhi Ekadashi Wari 2024, administrative approval was given by the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance to provide a similar grant of ₹20,000 per dindi accompanying the 10 honored palkhis. Accordingly, a list of 1,109 dindis was received from the Divisional Commissioner, Pune, during 2023–24.

This year too, the same amount of ₹20,000 per dindi has been approved, totaling ₹2.21 crore (₹22.18 million) in grants.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has held a meeting in Mumbai, directing officials to provide the best possible facilities for the devotees participating in the palkhi procession. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar also assured that no shortage of funds will be allowed for necessary arrangements. Extensive planning is being carried out by the administration.

As the same grant is being distributed this year as last year, more facilities will be available for the Warkaris (devotees) in each dindi.
