Pimpri: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has taken a strategic decision to dispose of the waste in Dehuroad and Khadki Cantonment limits at Moshi Depot. Strongly opposing this decision, BJP’s Nikhil Borhade met Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipality Administrator and Commissioner Rajesh Patil on Monday. He has strongly demanded that garbage from the cantonment area should not be ‘dumped’ in the city when the burden of waste in the city is on us.

Nikhil Borhade has given a statement to Commissioner Rajesh Patil regarding this. In this he has said that when the serious question of how to dispose of the wet and dry waste generated daily in the city of Pimpri-Chinchwad is facing and the space of the Moshi Garbage Depot for solid waste management is insufficient, the municipal administration has decided to dispose of the waste from Dehur Road and Khadki Cantonment Board under the city in the Moshi Garbage Depot. A strategic decision has been taken. This is strongly opposed.

At present, when the serious question of how to dispose of wet-dry waste is facing us, now the question of how to dispose of excess waste is going to arise. The residents of the garbage depot area will suffer because of this. We are protesting that this decision of the administration is unfair. Borhade also warned that if this decision is implemented, the citizens of Moshikar will take to the streets and protest strongly against the administration.

The city of Pimpri-Chinchwad is currently under the pressure of 3.5 lakh people. Residents of Moshi are already suffering due to the stench of this garbage depot. Moreover, if the garbage from outside comes to this garbage depot, this pressure will increase. Therefore, it is insisted that garbage from outside the city should not be brought to this place under any circumstances. The demand was made at this time. It is also said in the statement.
