16 resolutions passed in Punatamba Gram Sabha; An ultimatum to the government announcing the agitation

Ahmednagar: A special Gram Sabha was held at Puntamba today on the issues of farmers. In this Gram Sabha, 16 resolutions of various demands of farmers have been approved and if the government does not fulfill these demands, the villagers have warned that the agitation will start from June 1. An ultimatum of agitation has been given by sending a copy of the resolution passed in the Gram Sabha to the government. If no action is taken in the next seven days, the dam agitation will be held from 1st to 5th June. Also, after June 5, the agitation has been warned to be more aggressive.

The historic strike of farmers across the state took place in 2017 only after the farmers of Puntamba called for a strike. Now, after 5 years, the farmers from this Punatamba village have again taken an aggressive stance. A statement of resolution will be given to the resident tehsildar tomorrow. It has also appealed to other gram panchayats to send this resolution to the government.

  • Resolutions passed at Punatamba Gram Sabha:

    – Sugarcane crop should be given subsidy of Rs.1000 per acre
    – The remaining sugarcane crop should be given Rs. 2 lakh per hectare
    – All crops including onion should be guaranteed
    – Onion subsidy of Rs.500 per quintal should be given
    – Farmers should get electricity at full pressure during the day
    – Exhausted electricity bill should be waived
    – Export ban on onion and wheat should be lifted
    – Basic price should be given to all crops, for which a decision should be taken by setting up a commission
    – Debt waiver done in 2017 should be implemented directly
    – Grants should be given to regular debt payers
    – ARP should be applied to milk like sugarcane
    – Milk should be paid at least Rs
    – Stop looting in private milk collection centers
    – Compensation should be given in case of damage caused by wild animals
    – Crimes filed in the farmers’ movement should be withdrawn
    – According to the Forest Rights Act, tribals should be given lands in their name
